After disassembling the winder and taking reference photos in an orthographic view, used the reference to create an exploded, isometric view of the winder parts in Illustrator. I then wrote disassembly instructions that can be used for maintenance and cleaning, laying them out in InDesign as if they were in sample booklets that could be packaged with the winder.

After the initial assignment, for more practice with this illustration style I challenged myself to create a companion illustrated guide for a beginner yarn swift often used for maintaining tension and preventing tangles.
